Single Niches

A single niche (单人位) is designed to house one urn, and is typically the entry point for individuals arranging their own resting place, or a family member's. Single niches are available across Blocks A, B and C at every level, with price varying by block and level. Block B, the nine-storey centre block, commands a premium over the four-storey Blocks A and C, and certain levels are regarded as more auspicious under feng shui principles (see our positioning note below).

Double Niches

A double niche (双人位) houses two urns, and is most often chosen by couples who wish to be laid to rest together. As with single niches, price is set by block and level, with the centrally located Block B priced above Blocks A and C.

Family Niches & Family Suites

Family niches and Family Suites are built for multi-generational families, typically housing between 4 and 12 urns. The largest configurations in the product range (Family Suites in the newer family columbarium blocks) are described as accommodating 8 to 24 urns, making them a practical choice for families who wish to keep several generations together in one location.

Premium Positions: Under-Buddha & Tower

Above the standard niche tiers, several halls and suites offer premium positions (placed directly beside or beneath the Buddha statue, or in a dedicated tower position) for families who want the most prominent placement within a hall. These positions are priced individually by hall and level rather than off the standard grid, and carry a premium over a standard niche in the same hall.

A Note on Feng Shui Positioning

Position within the columbarium is a meaningful part of how many families choose a niche. The halls at Nirvana Memorial Garden are laid out around the Five Elements, with nine Turned Fortune Balls positioned at the centre of the design. Our halls number their levels 1 to 9, with 3A in place of 4, in keeping with Chinese custom. Mid levels closer to eye height are generally regarded as more auspicious and priced at a premium, while the uppermost and lowest levels tend to be more accessible, and positions beside or beneath the Buddha statue and tower positions carry a premium of their own. If feng shui positioning matters to your decision, we're glad to talk it through with you.

Columbarium Niche Questions

How many urns can fit in a family niche?
Family niches and Family Suites are built for multi-generational families, typically housing between 4 and 12 urns. The largest configurations in the product range (Family Suites in the newer family columbarium blocks) are described as accommodating 8 to 24 urns. This makes them a practical option for families who wish to keep several generations together in one place, rather than dividing urns across separate single or double niches.
What is included in a private columbarium niche purchase?
A niche purchase at Nirvana Memorial Garden includes a one-time, permanent maintenance fee with no recurring annual maintenance charges, a complimentary 49-day An-Ling service (twice-daily vegetarian meal, tea, and joss-stick offerings performed by staff), the bone-picking/ash-collection ceremony, crematorium transport, and a brief departure ceremony. Exact inclusions can vary by tier. We'll confirm the full list for the niche you're considering.
What happens when a columbarium niche lease expires?
Niche purchases are made under a lease arrangement, and Nirvana Memorial Garden's own land lease with the Singapore government runs to 2098. The exact lease length, renewal, and expiry terms for an individual niche are set out in the purchase agreement signed at the time of sale. We're happy to walk you through the specific terms that would apply before you commit.
Can I transfer a columbarium niche to another family member?
Whether and how a niche can be transferred to another family member depends on the terms of the original purchase agreement. We're happy to go through the transfer process that would apply to your specific case. Message us on WhatsApp and we'll advise directly.
