Our Story

Nirvana Memorial Garden Pte Ltd was established in Singapore in 2009, part of the Nirvana Asia group, one of the largest integrated bereavement-care providers in Asia. Per the group's published account, around S$50 million was invested to rebuild the 950 Old Choa Chu Kang Road columbarium, completed in 2011 across three purpose-built blocks: Blocks A and C rise four storeys, and the centre tower, Block B, rises nine.

The garden is designed around a "six-star" standard: fully air-conditioned halls, feng-shui-considered architecture built on the principles of the Five Elements, and a calm, temple-like atmosphere that blends Buddhist, Taoist, and Confucian tradition. It was built to be a place families visit for generations, not just a single service.

The site's lease has been extended to 2098: long-term tenure that remains the single strongest reason families choose it over a shorter-term alternative.

Our Bereavement-Care Philosophy

We believe a resting place should bring lasting peace of mind, not recurring cost or uncertainty. Every niche purchase carries a one-time, permanent maintenance fee, so there are no annual maintenance charges to keep track of, year after year.

Every niche also includes a complimentary 49-day An-Ling service: twice-daily vegetarian meal and tea offerings, joss-stick offerings by staff, the bone-picking and collection ceremony, crematorium transport, and a brief departure ceremony. These are the traditional rites a family needs in the weeks immediately after a loss, provided as part of the arrangement rather than billed separately.

For families who value feng shui, our halls are laid out with positioning in mind: level, block, and orientation are all considerations we discuss openly, so a family can choose a niche that feels right for their beliefs as well as their budget.

Journey with Love: Our Aftercare Program

Journey with Love is our name for the care and dignity we bring to the earliest days after a loss, from how a loved one is prepared and presented ahead of the wake, to the quieter support a family needs in those first difficult days. It isn't a separate purchase; it's the attention to detail that runs through how we handle every arrangement.

Exact inclusions can vary depending on the funeral package chosen, so we're happy to walk you through what's covered (and what can be added) when you speak with us directly.
